Duxbury Man Charged with Distributing Child Pornography

A 35-year-old Duxbury man has pleaded guilty to distributing child sexual abuse material through a private chat room on the Kik Messenger platform.

Daniel Debreczeni, 35, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography in federal court in Boston. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Denise J. Casper has scheduled sentencing for July 16, 2026.

According to the indictment, Debreczeni distributed three videos containing child sexual abuse material between November 29, 2023, and December 12, 2023. The videos contained images of children as young as two and three years old.

Following Debreczeni’s arrest in August 2025, a search of his residence uncovered five images and 19 videos depicting child sexual abuse material on his Kik account.

The charge of distribution of child pornography carries a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 years in prison, as well as a fine of up to $250,000 and at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division, made the announcement today. Valuable assistance was provided by the Massachusetts State Police and the Duxbury and Quincy Police Departments.

Assistant U.S. Attorney David Tobin of the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.
