Dannie Carr, Transportation for Prostitution, Idaho 2019

A Boise man has been brought to justice for his role in a heinous crime involving the transportation of individuals for prostitution. Dannie Carr, 37, of Boise, Idaho, has pleaded guilty to transportation for prostitution and money laundering.

According to court records, between July 2019 and June 2021, Carr was the manager of a business engaged in the interstate prostitution of two adult females, primarily between Idaho and Washington. This despicable act not only exploited these women but also perpetuated a cycle of violence and abuse.

Carr’s abuse of power and control over the two adult females was a stark reminder of the dangers of human trafficking and the importance of addressing this issue. His actions are a testament to the need for continued awareness and education on this critical topic.

The U.S. Attorney for the District of Idaho, Rafael M. Gonzalez, Jr., commended the cooperative efforts of Homeland Security Investigations, Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation, Bellevue, Washington Police Department, and the Transportation Security Administration, which led to charges.

Carr is scheduled to be sentenced on May 17, 2022, and faces a maximum penalty of twenty years in federal prison, a minimum of five years of supervised release, and a $500,000 fine or twice the amount involved in the offense, whichever is greater.

The harsh penalties that Carr faces are a reminder that our justice system takes these crimes seriously and will not tolerate such egregious behavior. As a society, we must continue to work together to prevent human trafficking and support those who have been victimized by it.

It is essential that we prioritize the safety and well-being of all individuals, especially those who are vulnerable to exploitation. By doing so, we can create a safer and more just society for everyone.
