AUGUSTA, GA
A 26-year-old from Augusta, Georgia, Davion Chelsea Easterling, is facing up to 10 years in prison for Aiding and Abetting Possession of a Stolen Mail Key.
Davion Chelsea Easterling, along with co-defendant Corey Jamario Gunter, a 24-year-old from Augusta, Georgia, pleaded guilty to the crime in 2023. The two men are awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the U.S. District Court in Augusta, Georgia.
According to court documents, Easterling and Gunter were found with a master key for postal service mailboxes and large quantities of stolen mail during a search of their residence in 2023. The investigation revealed that mail was stolen from a USPS Blue Box located at the U.S. Post Office on Peach Orchard Road in Augusta, Georgia.
The plea agreements for Easterling and Gunter subject each defendant to a statutory penalty of up to 10 years in prison, along with substantial financial penalties and up to three years of supervised release upon completion of any prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
Victims and the public are welcome to attend the sentencing hearing, which will be held at the U.S. District Court, Augusta Division, located at 600 James Brown Boulevard, Augusta, Georgia 30901.
Easterling and Gunter are just two of five Richmond County residents facing various terms of years in prison for their roles in the crime.
Other defendants, including Cameron Martinas Curry, 22, Quavaun Enreco Rhodes, 22, and Earl Demetrius Overton, 32, are also awaiting sentencing for their involvement in the crime.
The investigation into the crime is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
