Debonair Donavan Wright, Third Degree Burglary, South Dakota 2020

A 19-year-old Mission, South Dakota man, Debonair Donavan Wright, was sentenced for third degree burglary after breaking into a local pawn shop and stealing multiple items of property valued over $1,000.

The crime occurred on June 10, 2019 at Mike’s Pawn Shop in Todd County, South Dakota.

According to court documents, Debonair Donavan Wright was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 13, 2019 and pled guilty on August 31, 2020.

On November 16, 2020, Chief Judge Roberto A. Lange, U.S. District Court, sentenced Wright to time served through November 20, 2020, three years of supervised release, a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100, and restitution in the amount of $620.

The investigation into the crime was led by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Elmore prosecuted the case.

Wright was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
