Delaware Man Charged with Drug Trafficking

Keith Stroud, 34, of New Castle, Delaware, has been charged with serious drug and gun crimes, according to a recent indictment.

The indictment, announced by United States Attorney Zane David Memeger, accuses Stroud of possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and felon in possession of a firearm.

The charges carry a maximum possible sentence of lifetime imprisonment, a five-year period of supervised release, a $1 million fine, and a $300 special assessment. If convicted, Stroud could face the maximum sentence.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division, and the City of Chester Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Jeanine Linehan is prosecuting the case.

According to the indictment, Stroud’s crimes were committed in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The indictment serves as an accusation, and Stroud is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
