According to court documents, between July and August 2023, Fenton used or persuaded a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct. Fenton also produced videos of the minor being sexually abused. The subsequent forensic examination of Fenton’s electronic devices revealed videos of the minor’s sexual abuse. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Fort Myers Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, which includes the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Yolande G. Viacava.

Led by the United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
Fenton must register as a sex offender, as per his sentence. This case serves as a reminder of the gravity of the crime and the importance of protecting our children from abuse. The investigation and prosecution of such cases demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensuring justice is served.
