Poplar Bluff Man Convicted of Methamphetamine Charge
A local man has been convicted of distributing methamphetamine in a high-profile case.
Deshante R. Nabors, a 33-year-old resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was found guilty of one felony count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
The crime occurred on August 6, 2020, when a Poplar Bluff Police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Ford Fusion driven by Nabors. Instead of pulling over, Nabors continued driving and threw out a black sock containing methamphetamine.
As the officer pursued Nabors, he jumped out of the vehicle while it was moving and ran away. He was later apprehended and found to have $1,030 in cash and a clear bag containing more methamphetamine in his pocket.
A search of the vehicle revealed additional methamphetamine and marijuana.
Nabors is facing sentencing on March 18, 2025. The charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
The case was investigated by the Poplar Bluff Police.
