Columbus Man Sentenced to 84 Months for Methamphetamine Charge

A Columbus, Ohio man has been sentenced to 84 months of incarceration for a methamphetamine charge, announced United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld.

Devante Crutez Taylor, 29, pleaded guilty in September 2021 to one count of ‘Possession with Intent to Distribute 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine.’

Taylor admitted to having 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in August 2019 in Ohio County.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Wheeling Police Department investigated the crime.

Devante Crutez Taylor’s case is a stark reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine and the importance of law enforcement efforts to combat the opioid epidemic.

The sentencing took place today in the U.S. District Court in Wheeling, West Virginia, before U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey.
