Devlin Lamar Ebron, Crack Cocaine Distribution, North Carolina 2023

New Bern, NC – A Greenville man has been sentenced to over 13 years for his role in distributing crack cocaine in the eastern part of the state. United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Robert J. Higdon, Jr., announced that Devlin Lamar Ebron, 32, was sentenced to 164 months of imprisonment followed by 5 years of supervised release by United States District Judge Louise W. Flanagan.

Ebron was charged with two counts of Distribution of a Quantity of Cocaine Base (Crack) after a confidential informant made two controlled purchases of crack from him in March 2016. The informant, working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Greenville, was able to purchase crack from Ebron on two separate occasions. An unknown amount of crack was also observed in Ebron’s vehicle during one of the purchases.

The investigation into Ebron’s narcotics distribution activity began in March 2016 after the confidential informant indicated they could purchase cocaine base from him. The informant was able to make the controlled purchases, and Ebron was subsequently charged with the two counts of Distribution of a Quantity of Cocaine Base (Crack).

Ebron pled guilty to the charges on January 16, 2018. His sentencing was based on his criminal history, which includes multiple drug trafficking related felonies. The court took these factors into consideration when fashioning the sentence, noting the need to deter similar conduct in the future.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Greenville Police Department conducted the criminal investigation into Ebron’s case. Assistant United States Attorney Bradford Knott handled the prosecution of the case for the government.
