Snolbert Ramirez-Sandoval, Fentanyl Distribution, Massachusetts 2024

BOSTON — A brazen case of fentanyl distribution has come to an end after a Dominican national pleaded guilty to the crime.

Snolbert Ramirez-Sandoval, 23, a resident of Dorchester, Massachusetts, sold fentanyl to unsuspecting buyers through a shocking method — using two young boys as young as 2 and 10 years old to facilitate the transactions.

According to court documents, on July 26, 2018, Ramirez-Sandoval directed a buyer to an apartment in Roslindale, where the two young boys were left unsupervised. The buyer paid the older child for the substance and left. This was not an isolated incident, as the buyer returned on Aug. 2, 2018, to purchase additional fentanyl.

Ramirez-Sandoval, who allegedly told the buyer to ring the buzzer, was not present at the time of the second sale. Approximately 20 minutes later, he and another individual arrived at the apartment and sold the buyer the fentanyl.

Ramirez-Sandoval faces serious charges, including two counts of distribution of fentanyl and two counts of employment or use of persons under 18 years of age in drug operations. The distribution of fentanyl carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million.

The charge of employment or use of persons under 18 years of age in drug operations carries a sentence of up to 45 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $300,000. Ramirez-Sandoval will also face deportation proceedings.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Estes of Acting United States Attorney Nathaniel R. Mendell’s Narcotics and Money Laundering Unit. The investigation was led by Brian D. Boyle, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, New England Division, and Colonel Christopher Mason, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police.

Snolbert Ramirez-Sandoval is scheduled to be sentenced on July 9, 2021. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
