A notorious methamphetamine dealer has been brought to justice in Tucker County, West Virginia.
Donald Allen Poling, 52, of Hambleton, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to one count of “Distribution of Methamphetamine” in federal court, United States Attorney Bill Powell announced.
Poling admitted to selling methamphetamine in December 2017 in Tucker County. The illicit substance sold was methamphetamine, a highly addictive and potent stimulant that wreaks havoc on communities nationwide.
Poling faces up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon S. Flower is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force investigated the case.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the hearing.
This case highlights the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine trafficking in West Virginia. As a result of this guilty plea, Poling will face the consequences of his actions and the community will be safer from the scourge of this deadly substance.
