McAlester Man Pleads Guilty to Firearm Charge

Muskogee, OK – A McAlester man has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge.

Donald Ray Logsdon Jr, 40, entered a guilty plea to Felon in Possession of Firearm/Ammunition in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(2), punishable by not more than 10 years imprisonment, a fine up to $250,000.00, or both.

The Indictment alleged that on or about March 5, 2020, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, having previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, and knowing of such conviction, did knowingly possess in and affecting commerce, a firearm and ammunition which had been shipped and transported in interstate and foreign commerce.

The charges arose from an investigation by the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service. Assistant United States Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States.

The Honorable John F. Heil, III, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.

Donald Ray Logsdon Jr, faces up to 10 years imprisonment and a fine up to $250,000.00. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program that brings together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime.
