Michigan Man Pleads Guilty to Methamphetamine Charge in West Virginia
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – In a major blow to the state’s drug trade, Drake D. Dodson-Williams, 31, also known as ‘KO,’ has admitted to possessing methamphetamine in Harrison County.
According to court documents, Dodson-Williams, a resident of Southgate, Michigan, had methamphetamine in his possession in October 2021. This admission comes after a long investigation by federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
The investigation, part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), has disrupted and dismantled several high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations. The task force uses a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach to target the country’s most notorious criminals.
As part of a plea deal, Dodson-Williams faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence will be determined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which consider the seriousness of the offense and the defendant’s prior criminal history.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher L. Bauer. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force, and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the hearing.
