Four men, including former federal defendants, have been indicted in an East Alabama drug-trafficking conspiracy. Theron Samuel Johnson, Jeffrey Leon Battle, Toney Courtez Jenkins, and Samuel Lane Jr. are accused of distributing methamphetamine, cocaine base, cocaine, and marijuana in Calhoun County between November 2023 and April 2026. The men, all from Anniston or Oxford, Alabama, allegedly worked together to traffic large quantities of narcotics, with Johnson and Jenkins also facing charges for possessing firearms in furtherance of their crimes.
The indictment alleges that the defendants distributed 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and 500 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine. Battle was also convicted of conspiracy to levy war against the United States in 2002 for attempting to join the Taliban.
