Jose Enrique Martinez Flores, Cocaine Trafficking, Texas 2025

⏱ 3 min read

A high-ranking leader of the notorious Venezuelan terror group Tren de Aragua is facing trial in Houston federal court for his alleged role in fueling terror and trafficking cocaine across the US-Mexico border.

Jose Enrique Martinez Flores, 24, aka Chuqui, was arrested in Colombia on March 31, 2025, after Colombian authorities snagged him pursuant to a provisional arrest warrant requested by the US. He arrived in Houston and is set for an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christina A. Bryan on May 15 at 10 a.m.

According to allegations, Flores conspired to provide material support to Tren de Aragua, a designated foreign terrorist organization, and engaged in international drug distribution conspiracy, distributing at least five kilograms of cocaine in Colombia destined for the US market.

The charges also reveal that Tren de Aragua’s leaders used the proceeds to further the group’s violent activities, including murder, extortion, and prostitution.

A federal grand jury returned a second superseding indictment in December 2025, charging Flores and three other TdA leaders with conspiring to provide and provide material support to the terror group.
