Durrion Joshua Morrison, Cocaine Charge, West Virginia 2023

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A shocking crime has rocked the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Durrion Joshua Morrison, a 32-year-old man from Wilmington, Delaware, has admitted to a cocaine charge.

According to documents obtained by Grimy Times, Morrison was charged with Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute Cocaine Base. This serious offense carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000.

The charges stem from an investigation by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative. Morrison allegedly distributed and possessed more than 12 grams of cocaine base, also known as "crack," in July 2016 in Berkeley County.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The case was presided over by U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble.

Morrison’s admission to the charges marks a significant development in the case. The defendant now faces a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

The investigation into Morrison’s activities has shed light on the ongoing issue of cocaine trafficking in the region. As Grimy Times continues to investigate this story, we will provide updates on any further developments.
