Norfolk Man Sentenced to 7 Years for Cocaine Trafficking and Firearm Charges

A Norfolk man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking operation, officials announced today. Dyron Eugene Holloway, 36, was found guilty of distributing cocaine and using a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.

According to court documents, Holloway sold cocaine during three transactions in Virginia Beach and another transaction in Norfolk between January 28, 2025, and February 13, 2025. During one of the transactions in Norfolk, Holloway also sold a handgun in addition to over 27 grams of cocaine.

During a search of Holloway’s vehicle, investigators recovered additional cocaine, marijuana, and a digital scale. Investigators also searched Holloway’s hotel room and recovered additional cocaine, another firearm, a firearm scope, and a magazine with 29 rounds of ammunition.

Holloway has a history of prior convictions, including assault and battery on law enforcement in 2012 and possession of a firearm with a schedule I or II drug in 2024. As a convicted felon, Holloway is prohibited from legally possessing firearms or ammunition.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Washington Field Division and the Virginia Beach Police Department investigated this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Luke Bresnahan prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at protecting communities from violent crime and dismantling transnational criminal organizations.
