HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – In a shocking turn of events, three defendants have been sentenced to prison for their roles in a federal heroin trafficking operation. Eddie William Randall, 36, of Detroit, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin and for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The investigation, led by the Huntington FBI Drug Task Force, revealed that Randall was part of a conspiracy to distribute heroin from Detroit to the Huntington area. Over the course of several months, Randall and his co-conspirators transported large quantities of heroin to the area, which was then distributed to local residents.
On June 25, 2015, officers executed a search warrant at Randall’s residence and seized approximately 40 grams of heroin, a loaded 9mm pistol, and $13,030 in cash. Randall was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple federal crimes.
Randall’s sentencing was the result of a lengthy investigation into his activities. During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that Randall had been involved in the heroin trade for several years, and had used firearms to protect his operation from theft or robbery.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia has made combating the illicit sale and misuse of prescription drugs and heroin a top priority. The office has been working closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to aggressively pursue and shut down illegal pill trafficking, eliminate open air drug markets, and curb the spread of opiate painkillers and heroin in communities across the Southern District.
As for Randall, he will be serving a 10-year sentence for his role in the heroin trafficking operation. His case serves as a reminder of the dangers of heroin trafficking and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat this issue.
In related news, Krishauna Deshay Brown, 37, of Huntington, was sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute heroin. Terrance Donte Hensley, 20, of Huntington, was sentenced to 3 years and 1 month in federal prison for distribution of heroin.
The investigation into Randall’s activities was conducted by the Huntington FBI Drug Task Force, the Huntington Police Department, and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorney Joseph F. Adams is responsible for the prosecution of Randall.
