Wolf Point Woman Admits Role in Kidnapping, Assault of Minor Girl
A Wolf Point woman has admitted to her role in the assault and kidnapping of a minor girl on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana.
Elmarie Amelia Weeks, 22, pleaded guilty on Dec. 14 to a superseding information charging her with kidnapping of an individual under 18, a federal crime.
The charges stem from a September 2021 incident in which Weeks and a group of individuals allegedly kidnapped a 15-year-old girl from her home, forced her into a vehicle, and drove her to a vacant field in Wolf Point where she was assaulted.
Weeks faces a mandatory minimum of 20 years to life in prison, a $250,000 fine, and not less than five years to life of supervised release.
The court will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. Sentencing was set for April 27. Weeks was detained pending further proceedings.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Wendy A. Johnson is prosecuting the case, which was investigated by the FBI, Fort Peck Law Enforcement, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office and Wolf Point Police Department.
Weeks was joined in the kidnapping and assault by several co-defendants, including Cheri Cruz Granbois, Kaylee Jade Jackson, Dylan Troy Jackson, and Patti Jo Annunciata Mail. Granbois and Jackson have pleaded not guilty and are pending trial, while Lavanchie Patricia Goodbird has pleaded guilty and is pending sentencing.
Details of the case are disturbing, with eyewitnesses reporting that Weeks and the group of individuals forced the victim out of her house after drinking alcohol, and then assaulted her, eventually kidnapping her and driving her to a vacant field where she was beaten again.
The case has sparked outrage in the community, with many calling for harsher penalties for those involved.
Weeks, a Wolf Point resident, will face the consequences of her actions when she is sentenced on April 27.
