A Keams Canyon man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor.
On Tuesday, Emmett Youyetewa, 53, of Keams Canyon, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Dominic Lanza to 15 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor. Youyetewa was also sentenced to lifetime supervised release and is required to register as a sex offender.
Youyetewa previously pleaded guilty to Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
The abuse occurred at a home in Keams Canyon, Arizona, on the Hopi Indian Reservation. Youyetewa is an enrolled member of the Gila River Indian Community.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs investigated this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Tracy Van Buskirk, District of Arizona, Phoenix, handled the prosecution.
