A Tuba City man has been sentenced to 240 months in prison for the sexual abuse of children.
Ralph Yellow, 78, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Diane J. Humetewa to 240 months in prison, followed by lifetime supervised release, for his role in Abusive Sexual Contact with a Child.
The crimes took place on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation, where Yellow is an enrolled tribal member. He admitted to knowingly engaging in sexual contact with a six-year-old child in 2012 or 2013.
The evidence also showed that Yellow engaged in sexual acts with other children for decades.
The FBI, Navajo Nation Department of Criminal Investigations, and Gallup Police Department conducted the investigation in this case. The United States Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona, Phoenix, handled the prosecution.
Yellow previously pleaded guilty to one count of Abusive Sexual Contact with a Child.
