An Omaha man has been sentenced to 152 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation.

Eric K. Rose, 36, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced to 152 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

According to court documents, on January 26, 2022, Rose was staying at the Towne Place Suites Marriott in Omaha when Omaha police narcotics detectives served a search warrant on his room.

Inside the room, officers located two ounces of methamphetamine, a drug ledger with ‘Rose’ written on it, 15 live 9mm bullets, $3,000 cash, baggies, and a digital scale with methamphetamine residue.

The officers also searched an SUV in the parking lot and located a Smith & Wesson SD40 handgun, a loaded magazine for the gun, and $635 cash.

Rose admitted the methamphetamine and gun were his and confessed to dealing methamphetamine. In particular, he asked his wife to bring the gun to the hotel because his methamphetamine supplier was looking to collect a drug debt.

The $3,635 in cash seized from Rose’s room was deemed to be drug proceeds or used to facilitate his drug trafficking operation and was forfeited to the United States.

This case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department.

Rose will begin a four-year term of supervised release after his release from prison, as there is no parole in the federal system.
