On January 20, 2016, in the early hours of the morning, 28-year-old Eric M. Dillon stormed into a 7-Eleven store at 6031 Hohman Avenue in Hammond, Indiana. Armed with a handgun, Dillon demanded money from the clerk, Roger Unton, 60, of Blue Island, Illinois, before pulling the trigger and taking the life of the unsuspecting shopkeeper.
