Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to 30 Months for Felon in Possession of a Firearm
FORT WAYNE, INDIANA – In a significant blow to gun violence, Kenneth Frierson, 25, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Frierson, a convicted felon with a prior conviction in Allen County Superior Court, Fort Wayne, Indiana, on September 28, 2011, for dealing marijuana, was found guilty of count two of the indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The investigation into Frierson’s activities was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant United States Attorney Stacey R. Speith handled the case.
According to documents, Frierson possessed a firearm between April 12 and 18, 2016. This egregious offense has earned him a 30-month prison term, as well as one year of supervised release.
The sentencing was carried out by Chief District Court Judge Theresa Springmann. This conviction serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of committing crimes while in possession of firearms.
As a convicted felon, Frierson is prohibited from possessing firearms. His actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of his community.
