Defendant Caught Red-Handed in Methamphetamine Trafficking Operation
WILKES-BARRE, PA – In a shocking turn of events, Eric Mann, a 27-year-old resident of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for his role in a high-profile methamphetamine trafficking operation in the Lehighton area.
According to court documents, Mann pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. In a damning admission, Mann confessed to possessing approximately 250 grams of the illegal substance at a residence in Lehighton on September 8, 2016. Agents seized the methamphetamine, digital scales, and plastic baggies from Mann’s bedroom in the residence.
The investigation, led by agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration and local police in Carbon County, uncovered a vast network of methamphetamine traffickers operating in the region. Mann’s arrest and subsequent sentencing are a major blow to this organized crime syndicate.
