A 24-year-old Mexican national has been brought to justice for violating U.S. immigration laws. Eric Vasquez-Gomez, a native of Mexico, was sentenced to time served for illegally re-entering the United States.
According to court documents, Vasquez-Gomez was found to have illegally re-entered the country after being previously removed. The discovery was made during an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security.
Vasquez-Gomez was arrested on September 8, 2025, and subsequently plead guilty to the charges. The defendant was sentenced by a District Court Judge on October 31, 2025.
Following the announcement of the sentence, the Judge ordered that Vasquez-Gomez be delivered to a duly authorized immigration official for deportation consideration. This move underscores the U.S. government’s commitment to protecting its borders and upholding immigration laws.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at addressing the issue of illegal immigration and combating transnational criminal organizations. The operation involves the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
