Erie Man Charged with Receiving and Possessing Child Pornography
A 50-year-old man from Erie, Pennsylvania, has been indicted on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography, a serious crime that has shaken the community.
Terry Chase White, a resident of Erie, has been named as the sole defendant in a two-count indictment presented to the court. According to the indictment, White received and possessed computer images and movies depicting prepubescent minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has made addressing rising violent crime in America a top priority, reinvigorating PSN in 2017 and directing U.S. Attorney’s Offices to develop a district crime reduction strategy.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 40 years in prison, a fine of $500,000, or both. Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case. An indictment is an accusation, and White is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
This is a serious crime that affects the most vulnerable members of our society. We urge the community to come forward with any information that may aid in the prosecution of this case.
We will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
