Eriskey Lashon Crowell, Cocaine Trafficking, Alabama 2024
A Clarke County man has been sentenced to 110 months imprisonment for his role in a multi-defendant drug trafficking conspiracy, according to court documents.
Eriskey Lashon Crowell, 36, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Terry F. Moorer on March 14, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama. The investigation revealed that Crowell had purchased cocaine from co-defendant Justin Bonard Douglas for up to four months prior to his arrest.
On January 7, 2020, a surveillance operation captured a hand-to-hand sale of drugs between Douglas and Crowell in Prichard, Alabama. After Crowell left the scene, a Creola Police Department officer attempted to stop him for speeding, but Crowell fled and was observed throwing five bags out of his vehicle window.
A high-speed pursuit ensued, and Crowell was eventually stopped and arrested. Officers recovered three of the five bags, which contained approximately 68.41 grams of cocaine.
The evidence showed that Crowell purchased cocaine from Douglas twice a week, obtaining two to five ounces at a time. Crowell’s two previous felony convictions triggered the career offender provisions under the United States Sentencing Guidelines.
The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mobile Police Department, and the Creola Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney George F. May.
The Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) operation, which identified, disrupted, and dismantled high-level criminal organizations, was also involved in the investigation.
