ST. PAUL, Minn. – In a stunning turn of events, former fast-food manager Timothy Michael Hill, Jr., 36, from Woodbury, has pleaded guilty to wire fraud after embezzling over $140,000 from his employer, announced United States Attorney Andrew M. Luger.
Hill was employed by Company A to manage a franchise at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. His role included handling daily cash deposits into a safe deposit box. However, between September 2022 and October 2023, Hill is accused of siphoning off funds instead, using future cash receipts to cover his tracks.
According to court documents, Hill’s embezzlement was concealed through fraudulent emails sent to Company A’s accounting personnel, falsely claiming delayed deposits. The stolen money was squandered on luxuries like jewelry, sports betting, and payments to female colleagues in exchange for explicit material via CashApp.
In total, Hill’s deliberate scheme netted him approximately $144,000, an amount he willfully embezzled over a period of 13 months. Today, in U.S. District Court before Judge Paul A. Magnuson, Hill pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud, with sentencing to be determined at a later date.
The investigation into Hill’s criminal activities was conducted by the FBI and the Minneapolis Airport Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew C. Murphy handling the prosecution.
