Dominique Hope, Cocaine Trafficking, North Carolina 2019

A Fayetteville man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in a cocaine distribution conspiracy that spanned nearly a decade.

Dominique Hope, 33, was deemed a kilogram-level cocaine dealer in the Fayetteville area from around 2010 until his arrest in 2019. According to court documents, Hope’s illicit activities included several shootings and robberies of other drug distributors, though the victims chose not to cooperate with law enforcement.

On June 28, 2019, investigators seized cocaine, drug packaging materials, and four firearms from Hope’s residence. The discovery marked a significant blow to Hope’s operation, which had managed to evade law enforcement for nearly a decade.

The case was investigated by the Fayetteville Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Caroline Webb prosecuted the case.

U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan handed down the 180-month sentence, which falls under the category of a 15-year prison term. The sentencing marks a significant victory for law enforcement agencies in the region.

The case number, 5:20-CR-140-FL, is available on the website of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina or through PACER.

Acting U.S. Attorney G. Norman Acker, III, made the announcement following the sentencing. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
