Jeremy Jovan Randolph, a 37-year-old convicted felon from Tallahassee, Florida, was caught with an AR-style pistol in his vehicle on February 5, 2026. Detectives from the Tallahassee Police Department’s Traffic Unit noticed Randolph’s vehicle parked illegally in a handicapped spot at a gas station. When they approached, they smelled marijuana and found the pistol with a 60-round magazine on the driver’s side floor.
Randolph, who is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition due to his prior conviction, pleaded guilty to the offense. The case was a joint investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Tallahassee Police Department.
Randolph faces up to 15 years in prison and three years of supervised release. His sentencing is scheduled for September 17, 2026, at the United States Courthouse in Tallahassee.
The U.S. Attorney’s office praised the work of the Tallahassee Police Department, saying it has taken a dangerous felon off the streets. The case is part of the Department of Justice’s Operation Take Back America initiative, which aims to improve public safety through successful prosecutions of dangerous criminals.
