Grimy Times Exclusive: Greene County Man’s Guilty Plea in Firearm Case
ALBANY, NEW YORK – Robert Twiss, 59, of Earlton, New York, has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to a statement by United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian.
The case involves a Plainfield M-1, Model 41 semi-automatic rifle found at Twiss’s residence on October 24, 2016. As a convicted felon, Twiss is prohibited from possessing such a firearm.
The FBI investigated the case and Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Belliss will be prosecuting it. Twiss faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to 3 years of post-imprisonment supervised release. His sentencing is scheduled for August 15, 2017 before Senior U.S. District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy.
