
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Antoine Miller, a 37-year-old man from Charleston, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 16 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents and statements made in court, Miller pleaded guilty earlier this year to being a felon in possession of a firearm and admitted that he possessed a stolen Ruger 9 mm handgun at Renaissance Circle in Charleston on April 28, 2020. Miller is prohibited from possessing firearms as a result of a prior felony conviction.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston made the announcement and commended the investigative work of the Charleston Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). ‘The sentence handed down to Antoine Miller serves as a reminder that those who have been convicted of a felony are prohibited from possessing firearms,’ said Johnston.
Senior United States District Judge David A. Faber imposed the sentence. Assistant United States Attorney Steve Loew handled the prosecution.
