Felon in Possession of Firearm: Three Men and One Woman Arrested in Montana
Three men and one woman have been arrested in Montana on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, assault, and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that the following persons were arraigned or appeared this week before U.S. Magistrate judges in Billings and Missoula.
Nicholas Tyler Smith, 24, of Livingston, was arraigned in Billings before U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy J. Cavan on February 12 and pleaded not guilty to charges of receipt of a firearm while under information and false statement in firearms acquisition. Smith was detained and faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release if convicted.
Dustin Charles Goudreaux, 29, of Lame Deer, was also arraigned in Billings before U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy J. Cavan on February 13 and pleaded not guilty to charges of assault resulting in serious bodily injury on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Goudreaux was detained and faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release if convicted.
In Missoula, Justin Michael Allen, 33, of Los Angeles, CA, waived a preliminary hearing and is detained on a criminal complaint charging him with felon in possession of a firearm. Allen faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release if convicted.
Another Missoula resident, Derek Alan Dembowski, 41, of Thompson Falls, was also arrested on a criminal complaint charging him with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and distribution of methamphetamine. He is detained and faces a minimum mandatory five years to life in prison, a $250,000 fine and five years of supervised release if convicted.
In a separate case, Jennifer Jill Danna, 46, and Przemek Rogalski, 40, both of California, were arrested on a criminal complaint charging them with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Both are detained and faces a minimum mandatory 10 years to life in prison, a $10 million fine and a minimum five years of supervised release if convicted.
Finally, Douglas Joseph Dayrider, 38, of Cut Bank, was arraigned in Great Falls before U.S. Magistrate Judge John T. Johnston on February 14 and pleaded not guilty to charges of failure to register as a sex offender on the Blackfeet Reservation. Dayrider was detained and faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and five years of supervised release if convicted.
The cases were investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The public can monitor the progress of the cases through the U.S. District Court calendar and the PACER system.
