Deveil Oliver Jean Westerfield, 28, a Davenport, Iowa man, was sentenced to 115 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon. The incident occurred on November 5, 2025, when officers responded to a shots-fired call outside the Happy Hollow bar. Westerfield was identified as carrying a rifle with an extended magazine and had threatened to shoot a woman related to a different incident before going to the bar.
Westerfield is prohibited from possessing firearms because he is a felon. The Davenport Police Department investigated the case, which was part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative to combat violent crime.
After completing his term of imprisonment, Westerfield will be required to serve a three-year term of supervised release. The sentence was announced by United States Attorney David C. Waterman of the Southern District of Iowa.
