Juan Francisco Juarez-Rodriguez, a 48-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for reentering the United States illegally. The convicted felon, who pleaded guilty on March 10, 2026, was discovered in Houston, TX, on January 25, 2023, with no authorization to be in the country. With a history of prior convictions, including burglary, drug charges, and resisting an officer, Juarez-Rodriguez has been a repeat offender, having been removed from the US in October 1999 and returning illegally multiple times.
U.S. District Judge George C. Hanks handed down the sentence, which will be followed by removal proceedings. The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Enforcement and Removal Operations, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ben Hostetter. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and transnational crime.
Juarez-Rodriguez’s extensive criminal history includes convictions for carrying a concealed weapon, criminal mischief, shoplifting, criminal trespass, battery, and illegal reentry. His repeated disregard for US law has resulted in significant prison time and will likely lead to his removal from the country once again.
