Christopher Glass, Fentanyl Distribution Conspiracy, Louisiana 2024

A ruthless Plaquemines Parish man has pleaded guilty to leading a deadly fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine distribution conspiracy in the New Orleans metropolitan area.

Christopher Glass, 46, admitted to conspiring with others to distribute large quantities of cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid responsible for a surge in overdose deaths. Glass’s guilty plea marked a major blow to the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation.

According to court documents, DEA agents began investigating Glass in June 2020 after receiving tips about his involvement in narcotics distribution. The investigation involved physical and electronic surveillance, confidential sources, and controlled purchases of narcotics, ultimately leading to a court-authorized wiretap.

During the investigation, agents discovered that Glass was conspiring with others to distribute cocaine and pills containing heroin and fentanyl. The evidence collected during the investigation was enough to secure a guilty plea from Glass, who faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $1,000,000, at least three years of supervised release, and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.

The prosecution is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney J. Benjamin Myers of the Financial Crimes Unit. This case is a prime example of the OCDETF’s efforts to dismantle major drug trafficking organizations and hold accountable those responsible for devastating communities with their deadly products.

The investigation was a collaborative effort between the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office. As the fight against the opioid epidemic continues, the Grimy Times will keep a close eye on the developments in this case and others like it.

Christopher Glass’s guilty plea is a significant victory in the war on drugs, but it also serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle to combat the scourge of narcotics in our communities. The Grimy Times will continue to shine a light on the darkest corners of the underworld, holding accountable those who seek to profit from the suffering of others.
