A 30-year-old Honduran national was sentenced to 54 months in prison for his role in a massive fentanyl deal in Seattle. Jorge Aguilar Martinez was arrested in October 2025 after connecting a customer with suppliers of meth and fentanyl pills. The operation netted 28 pounds of meth and 10,000 fentanyl pills.
Martinez’s co-conspirators were also arrested, but were released pending trial. Both were illegally present in the US and had been removed before the cases were resolved.
Prosecutors argued that Martinez’s conduct was driven by a desire for profit, and showed a callous disregard for the safety of others. The judge noted that fentanyl pills are lethal, and that Martinez’s actions had significant consequences for the community.
Martinez had been removed from the US in 2024, but returned shortly after. His sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the ongoing threat of fentanyl trafficking in the region.
