Larry Jerome Eastman, Fentanyl Conspiracy, Washington 2021

Washington, D.C. – The gritty streets of Southeast D.C. witnessed another tragic chapter in the war on drugs as Larry Jerome Eastman, 22, and his sister Justice Michelle Eastman, 26, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute Fentanyl.

Their actions are believed to have contributed to the April 6, 2021, overdose death of a 20-year-old woman. The DEA and Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) have been relentless in their pursuit of these brothers who allegedly sold fake Oxycodone pills laced with deadly Fentanyl.

According to the government’s evidence, the victim survived an earlier overdose but tragically succumbed to acute Fentanyl intoxication this time. The counterfeit M30 pills were recovered from her apartment, where text messages between the victim and Larry Eastman revealed a sinister web of drug transactions.

The DEA Laboratory has warned about the dangers of mixed Fentanyl in counterfeit prescription pills like those involved in this case. These pills pose a significant threat to public safety, as they often contain a potentially lethal dose of the substance.

Sentencing for Larry and Justice Eastman is scheduled for June 15, 2023, with a potential maximum sentence of 20 years for each defendant. Assistant U.S. Attorneys David T. Henek, Andy T. Wang, and Matthew W. Kinskey are prosecuting this case with the District of Columbia’s Violence Reduction and Trafficking Offenses Section.

The DEA and MPD have been instrumental in bringing these brothers to justice, showcasing their unwavering commitment to eradicating drug trafficking from our streets.
