Malik Martinez, Fentanyl and Cocaine Distribution, Pennsylvania 2024

⏱ 2 min read

Malik Martinez, a 28-year-old Pittsburgh resident, has pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute fentanyl and cocaine in the city’s Allentown neighborhood between March 2024 and July 2024. Martinez, who functioned as a redistributor of street-level amounts of both substances, faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. The guilty plea was entered on May 21, 2026, before United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan.

The investigation was part of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) initiative, a whole-of-government partnership aimed at eliminating criminal cartels and transnational organizations. The HSTF directs the full might of US law enforcement towards identifying, investigating, and prosecuting crimes committed by these organizations.

Assistant United States Attorneys Kelly M. Locher and Katherine C. Jordan are prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. Judge Horan has scheduled sentencing for September 16, 2026, and Martinez will remain in detention until then.

The guilty plea is a significant blow to the fentanyl and cocaine trade in Pittsburgh, which has been plagued by the opioid epidemic in recent years. The HSTF’s efforts to disrupt and dismantle these organizations are crucial in the fight against drug trafficking and related crimes.
