A ruthless Scranton, PA kingpin got 20 years in the slammer for cooking up a massive meth and weed operation, with guns blazing. Jimmy Bell, 33, was sentenced to 240 months in prison by Judge Karoline Mehalchick on May 13, 2026, after a guilty plea.
According to the feds, Bell masterminded a massive conspiracy to distribute over 2 kilograms of meth and nearly 4 kilograms of marijuana in Lackawanna County, starting on May 26, 2023. He was already a convicted felon, and had the gall to possess a rifle with an obliterated serial number, as well as a Smith & Wesson .38 special handgun, also with an obliterated serial number.
The feds say Bell’s operation was part of a larger nationwide crackdown, dubbed Operation Take Back America, aimed at taking down transnational criminal organizations and cartels. The case was investigated by the FBI, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gerard Donahue handled the prosecution.
