A Snyder County woman with a taste for the high life is headed to the slammer for 14 years after being caught running a lucrative methamphetamine trafficking operation in central Pennsylvania.
According to federal prosecutors, Valerie Tallent, 40, had taken over her incarcerated boyfriend’s lucrative business, peddling fentanyl, crack cocaine and crystal methamphetamine to locals.
Law enforcement launched a probe in January 2023 after a controlled buy, and subsequently obtained a warrant for Tallent’s property, where they uncovered a stash of 25 grams of fentanyl, 11 grams of crack cocaine and 1.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.
The evidence was enough to secure a conviction, and now Tallent’s sentence will keep her behind bars for 14 years, followed by five years of supervised release.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Lycoming County Narcotics Enforcement Unit.
