A Saugus man is headed to the slammer for 10 years after peddling thousands of fake pills laced with methamphetamine and fentanyl. George Krabey, 47, was busted in April 2025, when police found 5,296 pills containing methamphetamine with a weight of approximately two kilograms in a shoebox during a traffic stop in Danvers.
Krabey repeatedly met with a cooperating source and sold counterfeit pills between December 2024 and April 2025, according to court records. He was indicted in July 2025 and pleaded guilty in November 2025 to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, distribution of methamphetamine, and possession with intent to distribute.
Krabey was en route to sell the cooperating source 4,000 counterfeit pills containing methamphetamine when he was stopped by law enforcement in Danvers. He was a passenger in a vehicle and was arrested on the spot.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Jared A. Forget, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, New England Division, announced the sentencing today. The Massachusetts State Police and the Revere, Saugus and Peabody Police Departments provided valuable assistance in the case.
