A brazen scheme to sell fake driver’s licenses to illegal aliens in Boston has been brought to a close. Gabriel Nascimento De Andrade, 27, a Brazilian national, was sentenced to time served for conspiring to obtain driver’s licenses for ineligible applicants.
From November 2020 to September 2024, De Andrade and his co-conspirators exploited loopholes in state laws to obtain licenses for those who didn’t qualify. They collected cash from customers, including $450 from one buyer in a Plymouth parking lot, in exchange for providing fake documents.
The scheme targeted residents of Massachusetts and New York, where illegal aliens were initially barred from getting driver’s licenses. De Andrade’s co-conspirators would provide fake cable bills and other documents to fool the RMV into issuing licenses.
On March 6, 2026, De Andrade pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to produce and possess identification documents. He’ll be deported after serving time, a 450-day stint in federal prison.
