A Southbridge man was sentenced to six years in the slammer for his role in a cocaine trafficking scheme that brought kilos of the white powder from Puerto Rico to Massachusetts.
Miguel Lopez, 28, was collared after a package addressed to him was seized by the Feds containing a kilogram of cocaine on January 29, 2024.
Later that April, a two-kilo stash of the stuff was found at his Southbridge digs, along with a Glock pistol rigged with a machinegun conversion device.
Prosecutors say Lopez was part of a conspiracy that shipped cocaine to Massachusetts from Puerto Rico from April 2023 through April 2024.
Today, U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman slammed the lid on Lopez’s operation, handing him six years in the joint followed by five years of supervised release.
