Kayla Rickenbach, a 24-year-old resident of Reading, Pennsylvania, was involved in a large-scale fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking operation in Western Pennsylvania. From June 2024 to August 2024, Rickenbach conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute significant quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The operation was uncovered by the Pennsylvania State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force.
Rickenbach’s crimes were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon, resulting in a sentence of 90 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release. The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines.
The investigation revealed that Rickenbach possessed with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of a mixture of fentanyl and 50 grams or more of a mixture of methamphetamine. The quantities of narcotics involved are significant, highlighting the severity of Rickenbach’s crimes and the impact on the community.
The successful prosecution of Rickenbach is a result of the collaboration between law enforcement agencies, including the Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI. United States Attorney Troy Rivetti commended the agencies for their work in bringing Rickenbach to justice.
