Yolanda Camara, Conspiracy, Distributing Controlled Substances, Florida 2024

Tampa, Florida – United States Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III has announced the arrest of Yolanda Camara, 47, and Justin Oliveria, 26, both residents of Brandon, Florida. The duo is charged with conspiracy and distributing controlled substances outside the usual course of professional medical practice from Family Medical Express Center, Inc., located at 107 W. Robertson Street in Brandon.

Camara, a part-owner and manager of the clinic, and Oliveria, her son and employee, are accused of five counts of distributing Oxycodone and other controlled substances without legitimate medical purpose. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years for each count of distribution and an additional 20 years for the conspiracy charge.

In addition to the drug distribution counts, Camara faces up to five years in federal prison for lying to federal investigators during the investigation. The indictment also seeks to forfeit their Brandon residence and recover at least $709,651.75, alleged proceeds of the offenses.

The United States Attorney’s Office emphasizes that an indictment is only a formal charge and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the St. Petersburg Police Department, with prosecution led by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel George.
