A 27-year-old Florida woman was caged for five-and-a-half years for traveling across state lines to have sex with a 14-year-old girl in Tennessee’s Eastern District. Kasey Lynn Skaggs, of Jacksonville, was sentenced April 30, 2026, after pleading guilty to two federal charges: interstate travel for illicit sex and tampering with a victim to destroy evidence.
HSI-ICAC investigators, aided by local law enforcement, found that Skaggs traveled with her husband, Jeffrey Lee Robertson, into the state on three occasions from December 2023 to February 2024. The pair had been texting and messaging the minor about sex acts, and instructed her to delete evidence when they believed they’d been caught.
The case was the result of a joint investigation involving the HSI-ICAC Task Force, the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Energy’s Office of Inspector General, and the Lenoir City Police Department.
