Floyd Andrew Brown, Child Pornography, Michigan 2023

Floyd Andrew Brown, 35, of Lyons, Michigan, pleaded guilty to producing child pornography, a federal crime that puts him behind bars for a long time. Brown, a resident of Lyons in Michigan, was taken into custody in December 2012.

Brown’s crimes included producing child pornography videos and images at his home in Ionia County. He admitted to sexually abusing young girls and using other minor females to create child pornography. Additionally, he possessed child pornography images in November and December 2012.

Brown faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 60 years of imprisonment. He will also be required to serve a term of supervised release after his prison term has been completed. Furthermore, he will be required to register as a sexual offender.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at protecting children from online exploitation and abuse. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, county prosecutor’s offices, the Internet Crimes Against Children task force (ICAC), federal, state, and local law enforcement are working together to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children.

The Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Michigan State Police (MSP) investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean M. Lewis prosecuted the case.

Floyd Andrew Brown will be sentenced for his crimes. His current status is in custody pending sentencing. The prison term, fine, or current status will be determined during the sentencing process.
