FLOYD ROBERTSON, 27, Sentenced to 10 Years for Distributing Heroin, Methamphetamine, and Fentanyl in New Orleans, 2021

In a major blow to the narcotics trade in Jefferson Parish, U.S. District Judge Barry W. Ashe sentenced FLOYD ROBERTSON, 27, to 10 years imprisonment for distributing heroin, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. This comes after ROBERTSON pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution of methamphetamine and one count of distribution of a substance containing both heroin and fentanyl.

According to court documents, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents conducted controlled purchases of narcotics from ROBERTSON on three separate occasions between February and June 2021. During these transactions, ROBERTSON distributed more than fifty (50) grams of methamphetamine and a quantity of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of heroin and fentanyl.

The investigation, led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, uncovered a web of narcotics activity that threatened the safety and well-being of the community. ROBERTSON’s actions were a clear threat to public health and safety, and his sentence serves as a reminder that those who engage in narcotics trafficking will face severe consequences.

Assistant United States Attorney Nolan D. Paige, Chief of the Narcotics Unit, handled the prosecution of this case. Paige stated, ‘This sentence should serve as a warning to those who engage in narcotics trafficking in Jefferson Parish: we will do everything in our power to bring you to justice and hold you accountable for your actions.’

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana has made it clear that they will continue to prioritize the prosecution of narcotics trafficking cases in the region. This sentence is a testament to their commitment to keeping the community safe from the scourge of narcotics.

ROBERTSON’s sentence includes 8 years of supervised release and a $400 mandatory special assessment fee. His imprisonment will serve as a reminder to those who would seek to engage in narcotics trafficking that the consequences are severe and the risks are high.
